Tamamoku: grain gathered into rounded, jewel-like swirls
Keyaki (Japanese zelkova) is one of Japan’s most celebrated hardwoods. Prized for its bold, distinct grain, it has long been used in temples and shrines, furniture and fittings.
Among its figures, tamamoku—where the grain forms rounded, swirling “jewels”—is especially rare. In this slab, the figure spreads across the surface.

4,300 mm long, 800 mm wide at the middle, and 180 mm thick. Both edges keep the natural contour of the tree—a true live-edge slab.
It can become the centerpiece of a space—as a long counter, a large table top, a low Japanese table, or a tokonoma board.
